Small Groups

What are Small Groups?

These are small groups meeting together in someone's home to think about and discuss, very informally, matters of faith.

We now have three different Small Groups underway at Frodsham Methodist Church, meeting fortnightly, and each group meets at a different time of day, afternoon or evening.

The Life Group is led by Mrs. Naomi Emison.
Digging Deeper is led by Deacon John Clarke.
Christian Basics is led by Rev'd. Charles Hill.

If you would like to come to one of the groups, please speak to a Church Steward who can tell you when and where the groups will be meeting, so that you can choose one to suit you. Everyone is welcome!

These Small Groups are in addition to the Discussion Group, Third Sunday, led by Mrs. Patricia Barnard, which meets in the Church Hall every 3rd Sunday morning at 9.30am.
One example of our Small Groups is the Life Group. Here is a sample of what they get up to...

Life is an intricate tapestry of stories.

All are welcome to explore how stories help us to better understand the world, our relationships with other people in daily life, work, churches and other communities and how a story enriches our knowledge of God and helps us grow in faith.

Following the resource book ‘So what’s the story?’ written by Barbara Glasson and Clive Marsh, this group will provide time and space to reflect on the following:-

Telling Stories: why do it ?
Shaping Stories: narrating life experience
Connecting Stories: Making Christianity our own
Living Stories: story as testimony
Hearing stories: listening for the untold
Jesus stories: engaging with the Gospels
Sharing stories: living between faiths
Creating Stories: being creative
Growing stories: responding to context
Shocking Stories: handling bad stuff
Inhabiting Stories: living it out
Living the story: Living it out
