Members of Frodsham Methodist Church were asked about their favourite readings and prayers.
When asked about his favourite Bible reading, Frank wrote ...
Mark 10:14. ‘Suffer the little children to come unto me ...’ I am one of nine children in my family and this verse was in a picture frame on my bedroom wall for as long as I can remember. It reminds me of my childhood and family whenever I hear it.
… and about his favourite hymn he wrote
"Quite a few really. ‘Abide with me’ stands out because of its association with Remembrance and sport. I was a member of 1st Frodsham Scouts and in the 60’s, and early 1970’s we marched from Frodsham village centre to St. Laurence Church on Remembrance Sunday with the scout band and the British Legion. This hymn always seemed to be in song when we arrived. Marching up Red Lane playing a bugle was no mean feat I can tell you! In my youth the sporting highlight of the year was always the FA Cup Final at which this hymn is traditionally sung and still is I think. I also like many of the more modern hymns."
The reflections here are written by members of our congregation.
