![]() Next Sunday (10th February) we will be holding a collection for the Leprosy Mission What is The Leprosy Mission? We are an international Christian development organisation We focus specifically on leprosy and offer specialist expertise on reconstructive surgery We treat leprosy complications We address the fear and stigma associated with having leprosy. Many people suffer in silence because they are too ashamed to find help or do not know where to get help Our aim is to transform and empower the lives of people affected by leprosy We work in around 30 countries across Africa, South Asia and East Asia Our services are provided regardless of religion or ethnicity, promoting equality and social justice. What does The Leprosy Mission do? Our work includes: treating leprosy and providing general health care and health awareness training training national health staff to diagnose and treat leprosy and prevent disability providing surgery and physiotherapy training people affected by leprosy in self-care (caring for areas of the body desensitised by leprosy to prevent injury and disability) providing education and vocational training providing housing support, water and sanitation providing small business loans and training to enable people affected by leprosy to escape poverty and become independent empowering people affected by leprosy and disabilities to lobby governments and employers for equal rights medical and social research.
