This is an exciting document which sets out the new vision and mission statement for our Church, and how we hope to deliver it over the next five years. Please take time to carefully read it and let Mr. John Holmes, Mr. Alan Carter or any of the Leadership Team know if you have any queries or want more information. Please use the sign up sheet in the Church Hall, or e-mail enquiries@frodshammethodist.org, if you would like to:-
Many thanks, The Leadership Team
Are there Bible passages that you have never understood, or Christian history that you know nothing about?
What about stories that are in the news, and how Christians might view these? Are there any differences in Christianity today from previous generations? Are you interested in discussing Bible passages, or listening to other people having these discussions? Why not join the discussion group that meets on the third Sunday of each month at 9.30am? All over a cup of tea of course! In response to the recent church Survey comments, there are also plans to start other midweek study groups, so if you can’t make 9.30 then watch out for notices about dates and times for these in the near future. Patricia Barnard A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. At our Gift service on the 15th November 2015, we will be dedicating Christmas Shoe Boxes which will be transported to children around the world. Take a look on the Operation Christmas Child Samaritan's Purse website for details about what you can put in a shoe box. You can help in different ways:- 1) Finding a shoe box. 2) Collecting items to fill a box and either fill one yourself or bring items to Church to fill boxes together. 3) Use the knitting patterns on the website to make something for the boxes. 4) Donate £3. Each box needs £3 to help with transporting costs. 5) Come on Wednesday 4th November at 3.30pm and Thursday 12th November at 7pm to help decorate and fill boxes. This coming weekend, 26th and 27th September is our Harvest Celebration Weekend. Do join us for A Harvest of Memories on the Saturday from 11am to 4pm. Services will be held on the Sunday at 9.30am, 10.45am, and 6pm.
Gifts for Frodsham Foodbank and Chester Aid for the Homeless will be collected. The items most in need are: milk (UHT or powdered) sugar (500g packs) fruit juice (carton) soup pasta sauces sponge puddings tinned tomatoes cereals rice puddings teabags / instant coffee instant mashed potato rice/ pasta tinned meat/fish tinned vegetables tinned fruit jam biscuits or snack bars any toiletries and baby products This year we will be supporting Operation Christmas Child. This organisation sends shoe boxes full of gifts to boys and girls in places of conflict. You can either complete a whole shoe box or donate items to go in them. A list of what you can put in the shoe boxes will be up in the Hall and in the newsletter next week with the times when we are meeting to make up the box. For now start saving a shoebox. This is an opportunity for everyone to work together to give a child a unique Christmas present when they have very little. The boxes will be presenting at our gift service on the 15th November.
For Christmas Day 2014, Rev'd. Denise Harding challenged the congregation to come in their most Christmassy clothing. Here a few of the success stories! |
