As usual, we will be having a sock tree in the front foyer of Church from 30th November. Gifts of new socks, for men, women and children, are very welcome.
The men’s socks go to a charity for the homeless in Chester. They have been delighted by our gifts in the past. Thick warm socks are particularly appreciated. Our sock tree is always a good talking point for people who come into the building.

Opening in February 2015 Frodsham OPAL Club will take place on Tuesdays at Frodsham Methodist Church.
We urgently need volunteers to help: * Lead sessions * Cook meals * Drivers Please come along to an Open Meeting at the Church on Tuesday 25th November, 10.30am, for more information or to join us. Alternatively contact Zoe Blocksidge on 07562 619 275 or zoe.blocksidge@rcswc.org.uk. On Tuesday 2nd December from 6.30 to 8.30pm, Main Street Community Church will be open for a self guided prayer walk through the Christmas Journey. Using the scenes which the school children travel through, it will be an opportunity to quietly reflect on the Christmas story. You are welcome to drop in for as short or long a time as you would like. Mainly suitable for adults and older students.
The charity ‘Save the Family’ is not able to receive our gifts of toys, etc., this year. So we have decided to do things slightly differently.
Gifts of toys (new or in good condition, please) will be gratefully received at the 0930 Live! service on 23rd November or the 10.45am or 6pm services on 30th November. These will be taken to Chester, to the DEBRA charity shop. DEBRA is a charity which supports sufferers from, and funds research into, a little-known congenital skin disease called EB. This disfigures children and blights their every-day living. Life expectancy for those with the disease is about age 20. You can find out more by going to their website, www.debra.org.uk. In addition to toys, we are happy to accept non-perishable food-stuffs and basic toiletries such as soap, shampoo or toothpaste to be sent to the local food bank. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Sock Tree: As usual, we will be having a sock tree in the front foyer from 30th November. Gifts of new socks, for men, women and children, are very welcome. We are pleased to advise that our Craft Fair which was held on Saturday 8th November proved to be another great success. We had 23 stallholders selling a wide range of art and hand crafted items including cards, jewellery, dresses, glass and wooden toys. We were pleased that the stall holders included two of our Church members Alun Evans and Jane Gibson. In the Church Hall we also had the Traidcraft stall and children’s activities which were very popular. Over £1100.00 was raised – which will be divided between the Tim Parry Johnathon Ball Foundation for Peace and Church funds. We got some lovely positive comments from both stall holders and visitors: “What a lovely friendly event. Felt very welcome” “ I really enjoyed last Saturday. It was such a lovely day! I enjoy your craft fair so much and hope that you will contact me next year” “It was very well organised and the quality of the crafts on sale was very high - there were some really nice items. The ladies providing refreshments were lovely and the cakes were fantastic!! And even: “ Came last year, it is one of the reasons I have just moved to Frodsham. Brilliant !!” More photographs from the event are on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/meetthecraftmaker A big thank you to the very many people who helped to make the event such a success. Carolyn Frayne A Service of Thanksgiving for those we have loved and lost will take place at Frodsham Methodist Church on Saturday 29th November at 3.00 pm.
We will have a number of Christmas Gift Tags available on which we invite you to write a message of love (or simply a name). There will be an opportunity for you to place your gift tag on the Christmas tree in Church where it will remain throughout the Christmas Season. If you would like further information or if you are not able to attend but would like a gift tag placed on the tree in memory of a loved one please e-mail enquiries@frodshammethodist.org. Our next Lunch Club will be on Wednesday 5th November. We hope you will come and enjoy a light lunch and a chat with us. Lunch will be served at 12.30pm prompt, with doors open from 12 noon. Transport can usually be arranged within the Frodsham area for those who need it. The suggested donation for lunch is £3 each.
