![]() Would you like to look after the Holy Family for a night in the weeks leading up to Christmas? We'd love to offer this to as many people as possible. For more information, e-mail us at enquiries@frodshammethodist.org. ![]() As the centenary of the start of the Great War approaches (4th August, 2014), we are preparing to commemorate and honour our heroes of the First World War. Cllr. Allen Wales has been researching the personal stories of the sons of Frodsham whose names are inscribed on the three Memorials (Overton Hill, S. Laurence Churchyard and Frodsham Methodist Church) with a view of publishing the stories so that “They will not be forgotten.” We are also keen to add any missing names to the Overton Hill War Memorial. We are seeking the community’s involvement to help us with locating relevant stories, documents and pictures and with planning events for the period 2014-2018. If you wish to contact anyone about this, e-mail council@frodsham.gov.uk. Frodsham Town Council We are now fully booked with crafters for our "Meet the Craft Maker" style fair which will be held on Saturday 9th November. We have stallholders selling a wide range of hand-crafted items, which would make ideal Christmas gifts.
Inspired by the “guerilla knitting” that appeared around Frodsham we will be transforming our Church garden with colourful crafted flowers and other items for the event and local schoolchildren are involved in this project. This will be a free event and there will be various craft demonstrations throughout the day and activities for children. Some of the proceeds from the event will go towards the church charity, The Amity Foundation, which works with rural communities in China. Please “like” our Facebook page for regular updates about the craft fair and to find more information about the local artists and crafters who will be taking part. Could you help by raising awareness, in your group or activity. On the 20th October, a service will be held to identify how our faith, hope and love can be enacted out as a Christian response. If you would like to get involved please contact, Stephen Pickett by e-mailing enquiries@frodshammethodist.org. ![]() The new Traidcraft catalogue for autumn and winter is now available. There are some beautiful Christmas cards and gift items. Experience has shown that a number of items sell out quickly. Please help yourself to a catalogue from the table in the Hall, and return with your order as soon as possible (keep the yellow duplicate copy for yourself - payment to be made when the order is delivered). Christmas cards, etc, will be for sale along with the usual foodstuffs after the 0930 Live! and 10.45 services on most Sundays from Sept 15th. Rev'd. Denise is going to this event on Friday 4th October (from about 9am to 5pm) and would welcome a group from Frodsham Methodist Church to attend too. Transport can be available depending on numbers (3 spaces in Denise's car, and there may be other people with car space too). Cost not more than £5 for a day ticket (we will take a packed lunch with us) which allows access to hundreds of stalls with everything you can ever imagine (and more!).
Please e-mail Rev'd. Denise on denise.harding@frodshammethodist.org or ring on 01928 733180 if you would like to go. It's a brilliant thing to go and do if you never have before! Tickets need to be ordered in advance, so please book before end of Sunday 29th September. Check out their website here. |
