The Max Planck Lecture Series: How does God answer Prayer in a Scientific World? 1 May @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm A five event series at Chester Cathedral, encompassing many different aspects of Science and Faith. The series is named after world famous and Nobel-prize winning theoretical physicist Professor Max Planck; an originator of Quantum Theory and a man of both science and faith. 2018 marks the 160th anniversary of his birth and the 100th anniversary of his Nobel Prize for Physics. This is the first event of the series – How does God answer Prayer in a Scientific World? Event sponsored by Chester Theological Society The Rev’d Professor David Wilkinson – Professor and Principal of St John’s College, Durham University Free Entry. All welcome, 7.30pm – 9pm in the Cathedral Refectory.

The Christian women of Suriname have prepared this service. Refreshments will be served after the service. Once again local singing group Equinox will be here at Frodsham Methodist Church to entertain you with an evening filled with Christmas music.

The Cheshire Churches Together Service for 2017 will take place in Frodsham. It will be celebrated at St. Laurence Parish Church on Sunday 22nd January at 3 pm. We are privelaged that the preacher will be Rev’d. Dr. Roger Walton, President of the Methodist Conference. The focus will be on reconciliation between our different Churches and promises to be a rewarding time. Dr. Walton is former Director of the Wesley Study Centre in Durham and the author of a number of books and articles. You are all most welcome and encouraged to come and share this time together. The Cheshire Churches Together Service for 2017 will take place in Frodsham. It will be celebrated at Saint Laurence Parish Church, Frodsham, on Sunday 22nd January at 3 pm.
The focus will be on reconciliation between our different Churches and promises to be a rewarding time. You are all most welcome and are encouraged to come and share this time together. Out Harvest Weekend is 24th/25th/26th September. Saturday: Harvest of Memories Come and join us for coffee/tea and cake or lunch and browse the memorabilia that we will have on display. There will also be entertainment throughout the day. This will be a day not to be missed. Sunday: The morning service will be at 10am, followed by a Harvest Brunch. Please join us for both of these. During the service we will be collecting tins, packet foods and donations of money, which will be distributed between Runcorn and Frodsham Foodbank, and Chester Aid for the Homeless. The evening service at 6pm will be a Harvest Songs of Praise service. Monday: Afternoon Harvest Praise followed by light refreshments. On Monday 11th July 2016 from 2pm until 4pm in the Church Hall, Kingsley Road, Frodsham Methodist Church Ladies Group will be holding a Cream Tea.
TICKETS £2.00 (includes refreshments) -- Cake stall, Tombola and Raffle -- Proceeds to The Opal Club This annual popular annual event will be taking place on Tuesday 22nd December 2015 at 7.30pm. Tickets £8 includes tea and mince pies. Proceeds will go to Church funds and local charities.

Saturday 26th September, 10am-4pm Harvest of Memories A display of memorabilia covering the decades from the . Come and reminisce, share your memories and maybe learn something new. Listen to or join in with some of the old favourite songs and hymns, look at old photos, maybe do the quiz. Then join friends over refreshments. Sunday 27th September 9.30am 0930live!: The usual lively, informal celebration for families (and others!) 10.45am Morning Worship led by Elizabeth Holmes: a mix of traditional and more modern hymns, special readings and participatory worship. After this service there will be a ‘Bring and Share’ lunch, to which all are invited. You don’t need to provide superb home-cooked fare – a supermarket offering is just as acceptable. Our church family lunches are always very much enjoyed by those who come – if you’ve not been before, why not join us? 6.00pm Songs of Praise, a traditional service led by Local Preacher Mr Mark Smyth Gifts of non-perishable foodstuffs and simple toiletries will be received at these services, to be taken to Frodsham Foodbank and Chester Aid for the Homeless. Tinned food with ring-pulls is especially useful for the latter. There will also be a basket for gifts of money. Monday 28th September 2.30pm Afternoon Praise: a short act of worship led by Edgar Gregory, followed by afternoon tea. A service especially, but not exclusively, for our older friends who find it more difficult to come regularly to Church. All are welcome. Do come and share in our Harvest celebrations – and why not invite a friend? |
