TICKETS: £2.50 including refreshments. Raffle and Tombola proceeds to Memory Lane Project, Ward 50/51 Countess of Chester Project. For the last three years the Methodist Church has encouraged members to observe ‘Bible Month’, in which preaching and study groups focus on a particular book of the Bible. This year an increasing number of churches across our Circuit have decided to participate. At FMC we have chosen to do this at the 10.45am service during July.
The chosen book for this year is Paul’s letter to Colossians. Paul wrote this letter to the church at Colosse (near Ephesus in modern-day Turkey) whilst he was imprisoned in Rome. He had heard that the new church was being undermined by some heretical philosophy, and he writes to confirm the supremacy of Jesus Christ as the cornerstone of Christian belief. You may like to read the letter in advance of the services each week. The programme is as follows: July 7th: Colossians 1: 1-23 July 14th: Colossians 1: 24 – 2: 15 July 21st: Colossians 2: 16 – 3: 17 July 28th: Colossians 3: 18 – 4: 18 |
ReflectionsThe reflections here are written by members of our congregation.
