Pictured below are Margaret and Wilf at a party held at Ladies' Group The 2011 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity comes to us from an ecumenical group in Jerusalem.
The Christians of Jerusalem and indeed much of the Middle East are living under tremendous pressure and we are all too aware of the difficulties they experience both in terms of the political and religious situation and their dwindling numbers. However they are also communities of faith that worship, pray and study together, who work for the good of their society and pray for unity of the Church and the coming of the Kingdom of God. In 2011 they invite the world-wide Church to pray with them for the unity of the Church and justice and peace in the Holy Land and through the world. To find out more, visit the national Churches Together website. In Frodsham we are holding a number of special joint Churches Together services, to which all are invited, including a special service based around the style of worship of Taize, a community in France, which is highly reflective and prayerful. The service is at Frodsham Methodist Church on Tuesday 18th January, 2011, at 7.30pm. To find out about the other events planned, or for more information, visit the Frodsham Churches Together website. Don't forget our next Messy Church on Friday, 21st January, at 5.15 in the Church Hall.
There will be plenty of crafts, food and short, lively worship. This event is suitable for all and a warm welcome is extended to you. We look forward to seeing you, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail Andrea on messychurch@frodshammethodist.org. |
