We will begin our 2015 Lent Course by watching the film The Way on Saturday 21st February at 7pm (bring your own drinks/sweets), in Church. Please feel free to come along to the film night even if you don't wish to join in the Lent Course - all are welcome.
This will then be followed by 5 sessions following the course which reflects on the film, on the following dates: Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm in the Quiet Room: 24th February 17th March 3rd March 24th March (not meeting on 10th March) 31st March Information about the film: THE WAY is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world. Martin Sheen plays Tom, an irascible American doctor who comes to France to deal with the tragic loss of his son (played by Emilio Estevez). Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage "The Way of St. James" to honour his son's desire to finish the journey. What Tom doesn't plan on is the profound impact this trip will have on him. Through unexpected and often amusing experiences along "The Way," Tom discovers the difference between "the life we live and the life we choose.” The story is based on the well known Camino de Santiago pilgrimage.
