On Friday June 21st Rev Denise was spotted in her front drive looking muddy and wet. What was she up to? Well, she was cleaning her drive in preparation for the Afternoon Tea and Garden Trail. She raced off to mow the grass just in time just in time for four gazebos to be erected on her lawns. Saturday morning saw a steady stream of chairs, tables; scones and cakes arrive at the Manse. The forecast was poor and the sky was cloudy. Would all this preparation be in vain? Happily, as you can see from the photos, the sun shone, the scones and strawberries were eaten and the garden trail was walked by many people of all ages. Some of the clues had us puzzled but Kathleen and Anne had produced an excellent trail and the gardens were lovely. We visited the garden of a couple of alpine enthusiasts, enjoyed a peaceful oasis along the main road and I’m still wondering how many eggs a certain hen had laid in another garden! Congratulations to Pam for solving most clues. Many thanks to everyone involved in making this such a successful event.
