Are you a lay or ordained person in the Church of England or the Methodist Church who longs for both churches to move towards fuller unity in mission, worship, and holiness? Do you have the enthusiasm, understanding, and commitment to raise the profile of the Covenant and to champion the work currently being done to enable both churches to fulfil their commitments to God and each other? Initially, we are seeking up to six people from the two churches to be Covenant Champions in each of nine regions for a term of up to four years. You could be one of these in your region and make a significant difference to how both churches live the Covenant. Your commitment would be about ten hours a month.
Expressions of interest are invited from lay and ordained persons in good standing in either the Church of England or the Methodist Church. Closing date: 12 noon on Monday 7 November 2016 There will be interviews on Friday 25 November 2016 in London and on Friday 2 December 2016 in Manchester. Further details and application pack, for both Anglican and Methodist applicants, from: Development & Personnel Office, Methodist Church House, 25 Marylebone Road, London NW1 5JR E-mail: recruitment@methodistchurch.org.uk or look here.

People have spoken to me about the shoe boxes for the Boas Trust. Each Sunday there will be a box in the Church Hall for people to donate items to fill the shoe boxes. If you have a shoe box, please can you save it. We need about 40. At the moment we need 22 for women and 18 for men. Remember these are for adults not children this year and the suggested items needed to go in them are: chocolate, moisturisers (our clients receive toiletries monthly, but we are not often able to provide creams), gloves, scarves, hats, jewellery and accessories. Anything that may be useful. Could all groups belonging to Church help collect items for these boxes. It’s are large number but if we all help its do-able and we will be spreading the message of Christmas to people who have very little this year.
Thank you. Andrea Ellams Last weekend 10 people walked along the canal to Llangollen and back, walking nearly 9 and a half miles. It was prefect weather and we all enjoyed ourselves; what a special time of fellowship. Over £150 was raised for the Boaz Trust, our Church Charity 2016. Thank you to all who gave and took part in the walk. Perhaps we can walk to Chirk next time? The Boaz Trust work with destitute asylum seekers. More information can be found about them here. There will be retiring collections at all services on 16th and 23rd October to support this appeal. The funds raised will be sent to "All We Can" (formerly called the Methodist Relief and Development Fund). They have been working with local partners in Haiti for the last six years and are already working to meet the needs of those in greatest need. It is estimated that 1.4 million people are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance and that 60,000 people have been evacuated from their homes. Please support the work of "All We Can" in Haiti.
