We are hoping to lead you through the Priorities of the Methodist Church in the first four weeks of June by sharing something of those things that we are called to as Methodist people. These weeks will be led by our own preachers in Frodsham - Mrs. Liz Homes, Rev'd. Denise Harding, Mr. Andrew Ellams and Mr. Edgar Gregory. We hope that you find them useful as we seek to learn together about our faith.
Around sixty friends shared worship and fellowship together on Tuesday last. Thank you to all those who helped make this a most enjoyable afternoon.
If you are 8 years to 23 years old, have a look at the Methodist Church website and the 3Generate information. It would be great it some of you would like to go on this youth weekend in November. Some funding may be available if we decide to go sooner rather than later. Let me know if you are interested.
Andrea Ellams The recent (slightly!) warmer weather has brought out signs of Spring, with lots of new green shoots bursting out to tempt us into the garden, and I can now confirm dates of the next two Quiet Garden Days here at ‘Gilly’s Quiet Garden’, 56 High St., Frodsham.
On Wednesday 8th May there will be a ‘Find your own Space’ day; this is a day for you, with space and time for personal reflection and prayer. Resources will be available to help you draw into God’s presence during the day, which will be mainly in silence. Starting with coffee at 10am and ending around 3.30pm, with a light lunch provided, you are free to make this day your own: indeed you are welcome to come just for the morning or the afternoon, but if this is the case please let me know for catering purposes whether you will require lunch. There is no charge but there will be an opportunity to make a donation to cover costs and towards the work of the Quiet Garden Movement. On Thursday 4th July Andrew and Wendy Rudd will be leading a Creative Quiet day in the garden, more details to follow. To book a place on either of these days contact me, Gill Morgan, by e-mail on gillandgareth@gmail.com (booking essential). You can find out more about the Quiet Garden Movement at www.quietgarden.org. The Outreach Team are planning an Afternoon Tea and Garden Trail for Saturday 22nd June and we are looking for gardens to visit. Please consider offering your garden for this event – big gardens, small gardens, gardens with weeds and gardens without weeds will be most welcome. Walkers will only be spending a few minutes in each garden while they look around and solve the clue on their way to their final destination – tea at the Manse.
Kathleen and Anne have offered to plan the route and think of the clues. They will try to include all the gardens in the trail if possible. Please get in touch with one of the stewards to offer your garden or for more information about what promises to be a fun event...as long as the weather is good! Many thanks, Ros Caldwell |
