Meet the Craft Maker 2013...
Our Meet the Craft Maker Fair, which was held on Saturday 9th November, was a great success! We had twenty-one stallholders in the Church selling a wide range of hand-crafted items, including jewellery, candles, glass and wooden toys. We were pleased that the stallholders included our friends from Caldy Valley Church craft group and TX textile group. In the Church Hall we had the Methodist book stall, Traidcraft stall and a stall selling cakes and jams.
We also had children’s bracelet making and a very talented facepainter and balloon modeller.
Jean and the team did an excellent job providing refreshments for the crowds of people that attended.
A number of stall holders demonstrated their craft at their tables, and there were further demonstrations of lace making, felt making and spinning in the craft room throughout the event. The weather stayed fine and so many people were able to go and see the craft garden – some attaching prayers to the giant cobweb/prayer catcher.
Over £1000 was raised – some of which will go to Amity with the remainder going towards church funds. Many people came who had not been to our Church before and we got some lovely positive comments about the friendly atmosphere.
A big thank you to the very many people who helped to make the event such a success.
